My wife and I are just getting started in saltwater aquariums and have been going around to a lot of different stores doing our research and getting our setup done and dialed in correctly for our upcoming livestock when we come across this store. Upon entering the store we can tell they are definitely new but even with all of the commotion a very well put together and dedicated store. The staff was very attentive and quick to help in any way possible. I am someone who likes to ask a lot of questions to make sure I am going about things the right way and Shane was spectacular, extremely knowledgeable, and very much eager to help us with anything and everything that we needed for our current project and even went into detail about what we would need to look forward to in the future going down the current dreams that we have with our saltwater adventures. Also a massive thank you to Sam who was extremely kind and supportive as well and made all of our time there a very enjoyable, fun, and entertaining time. Overall our experience was spectacular and I do believe as this store gets more established I see this being a great staple for the community of aquatic pets as they take amazing care of the environment and the animals they have which by the way they have a lot of great pets. Looking forward to our next visit soon.

Absolutely amazing pet store. Very informative with any questions you have- a beautiful selection of fish and plants and more. Really is my favorite pet store and honestly the only one I trust getting any fish or reptiles from. They truly care about the well being of the animals.

I've never had a single issue with any livestock purchased from this shop. Best part? They offer a 7 day guarantee on their livestock sales.

Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. The saltwater section is clearly the focus and is awesome, but they still have a solid freshwater selection. Even bettas in real tanks not cups!

My partner and I came out here for some lizard supplies and also to check out the fish. The store is stocked with basically everything you could need and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Best of all, all their bettas were in proper filtered and cycled tanks and all looked extremely healthy :)

Highly recommend Tropical Exotics. Staff is highly knowledgeable and helpful. Vee specifically has helped answer many of my questions regarding how to properly care for my angel fishes. The staff in general felt very welcoming overall and the inventory they had on the floor was amazing and I could spend hours looking at the various fishes, corals, etc.

Thanks to the Tropical Exotics team! Sam, Seth, Shane (I forgot a few, sorry!). I initially came out here from MD b/c it is the only location in the DMV that is a partner store for Aquarium Co-Op (has some of their products). But Sam’s knowledge, humor, and understanding made it a great experience. Everyone was great, kind, helpful. Beautiful, active coral! Their shrimp look healthy and vibrant, so I left with a few Sakura!

Very nice fish store with a huge selection of saltwater, freshwater, and African cichlid fish. I have never seen a coral selection like this place has. Good prices on tanks too, they can order whatever you want. Helpful staff. Good selection of aquatic plants as well.
